Ray Mears is one of the most accomplished teachers of bushcraft in modern history.
Not only has he attained worldwide knowledge across the last 25 years, but he also teaches the military the art of survival.

A lot of what Edward grylls knows is from the teachings of Ray Mears.

Ray Mears has also studied Judo for most of his life and by all accounts is pretty damn good at it.

The main reason that I think Ray Mears is one of the better masters of bushcraft is because he lives in harmony with his surroundings and can survive in them for many months.

Edward just charges through like a rhino with a hangover.

Oh and incidentally, the hobo fishing reel is because a lot of survival kits/ knifes come with several meters of fishing line and hooks/ lures…. he was showing you dont need rods or reels, just use what you have with you. anything tubular will work.

My final point is that these programs are designed to entertain as well as inform. If you want to watch someone running around shouting “this is really dangerous” while eating live frogs,watch Bear Grylls.

However if you want to see some aspects of proper bushcraft, watch Ray Mears.

As long as you are enjoying yourself… does it really matter?

hi what i do is just put my hands under a rock or somthing like that and very often i is a fish there then you just grab it and if the fish are small i just bite off the head and eat it raw that xstreme Survival.

the fishing lure thing would work great in a place like this, if u try it somewere that is used to being fished it would not work as well : /
