i would say pike are one of the best eating fish but you bake them in the oven in tinfoil with butter and white wine i dont eat any over 5 or 6 lb because they become a bit tough

oh and something about how i use dead fish.
i use a casting rod with braided line which can hold 23 kg’s. i have they weight (Lead) around 30 cm’s from my hook. if the water is 1 meters deep i recommend fishing on 1,5 meters deep. if 2 meters deep, fish on 2,5 meters deep, and so u can calculate how deep u have to fish (it sound strange but it does miracles) on 0,5 meters deeper then it acctually is so the lead is on the bottom, the fish will flout something after some time but that great.

(hope u guys understand my bad english)i always use a dead fish and not such a big head with hook, i use a hook 2cm’s long, i dont believe there always 5 pike’s around but on a normal day i catch around 6 pike’s now (this week i fished all days and on the baddest day i caught 3 pikes) so i really believe a dead fish will help, because i also used life fish and i didnt caught even 1 pike till i used dead fish again so what im trying to say, try also sometimes a less obvious hook and a dead fish.

In Michigan, Lake St Clair has an abundance of pike, muskies, and Lake Sturgeons! Ice fishing is lots of fun. especially in the the Northern part of the lake. They are less aggressive due to the cold water. Perch and wall-eye are our favorites eating fish.
